Abstract

Mental health issues have become increasingly prevalent among university students due to academic pressure, financial concerns, social expectations, and personal challenges. Despite growing awareness, stigma surrounding mental illness continues to discourage many students from seeking professional support. This study examines the level of mental health awareness among university students and explores the effectiveness of institutional counseling services and awareness programs. Using questionnaires and focus group discussions, the research identifies common psychological challenges and barriers to accessing mental health care. The findings suggest that universities with comprehensive mental health initiatives report higher levels of student well-being and greater willingness to seek professional assistance. The study recommends integrating mental health education into university curricula and expanding accessible counseling services.
